Summary
At FoodChain ID we are committed to consistently delivering the highest levels of operation and service excellence in our industry. Our certification services department is currently seeking a Food Safety Auditor. This position reports to the Director, Certification Operations US in striving for world class completion of food safety certification.

Role and Responsibilities
Technical, Certification and Auditing
  • Current Lead Auditor credentials to one or more GFSI recognized schemes (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000) as required by the CB, to achieve 100% utilization
  • Provide technical support as required to the business, including sales, marketing, leadership, customers and administrative staff
  • Be a member of the technical team and perform technical duties as necessary, including but not limited to technical reviews of audit reports, auditor training, witness audits, etc.
  • Perform all external audits and technical duties to meet the CB, customer and certification schemes expectations and OKR’s as defined.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge of customer audit programs. (Costco, McDonalds, etc)
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory standards from agencies such as FDA, USDA, CFIA, etc.
  • Working knowledge of auditing software system, checklists and corrective action management systems
Regulatory and Certification Knowledge
  • GFSI recognized food safety and quality audit schemes and lead auditor certification
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 17065 and ISO 17021
  • Key regulations that impact food certification, external audits, and clients
  • Comprehensive and extensive knowledge in the following areas:
    • Good manufacturing practices for food manufacturing and distribution
    • Pre-requisite programs for the food industry
    • Food safety plans and HACCP plans
    • Quality auditing principles
    • Relevant international standards
    • Third-party audit schemes
Competencies
  • Leadership, supervising and project management
  • Written, oral communication skills, presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, auditing software systems, scheme databases
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Food or Science related bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of Food Safety or Quality assurance experience in the food industry
  • 2+ years performing 2nd and/or 3rd party audits for a recognized audit scheme
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license
  • Lead or Internal Auditor training
  • GFSI auditor credential(s)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Food Safety or Quality assurance experience in the food industry
  • PCQI for human food
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) credential
