Role Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a background in agriculture or a related field to join our inspection team as an Inspector – Organic Certification. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and conducting on-site audits, documenting inspection findings, and reporting non-conformities in accordance with organic certification standards following established procedures and participating in ongoing training to build your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, arrange, and conduct on-site inspections in line with current organic standards and checklists.
  • Document all inspection findings accurately, preparing evaluation reports during or immediately after each inspection.
  • Identify and report non-conformities for evaluation by the certification team.
  • Maintain complete and organised inspection records, ensuring all notes are filed with the relevant case files and never destroyed.
  • Strictly adhere to confidentiality obligations in accordance with the employment contract.
  • Comply with all current work instructions, procedures, and internal quality management requirements.
  • Participate in mandatory internal training programmes, update meetings, and on-location standard reviews.
  • Execute audits under the supervision of a Senior Inspector during the authorisation process.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Aquaculture, Apiculture, Animal Husbandry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in auditing, certification, food processing, or other activities relevant to the certification scope.
  • Relevant training on organic standards and knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Valid authorisation certificate confirming competence in the applicable disciplines, products, or QMS areas.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to the certification scope.
Key Competencies required:
  • Must hold a valid authorisation certificate confirming the disciplines, products, and QMS areas they are qualified to assess
  • Must have a working knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to their certification scope
  • Where subcontractors are engaged, they must meet the same competence standards and hold an equivalent authorisation certificate, issued only after a thorough review of their qualifications documented by the individual or their employer
  • Inspectors with less than two years of experience must complete a minimum of two formal trainings and two shadow inspections annually before conducting inspections independently
  • Full authorisation is granted only upon satisfactory completion of the internal training programme, with the final decision made jointly by the Senior Inspector and Quality Manager
  • Must attend regular update meetings covering changes to audit reports, instructions, and sanction lists
  • On-location reviews of standards and audit procedures, including those specific to the production of pigs and calves, will be conducted periodically
